Business case: Fundamental vendor collaboration – NetApp & Lenovo

NetApp and Lenovo threw a bomb into the data center world on 13 September 2018. Both parties started working together intensively in a partnership on that date. A major part of NetApp’s portfolio will be OEM by Lenovo, integrated into the new ThinkSystem DM and ThinkSystem DE models.

The result of the collaboration between NetApp and Lenovo can be found in the portfolio under ThinkSystem DE and ThinkSystem DM. “The first is classic storage, block storage”, says Tom Sluys, General Manager Lenovo Data Center Group at Lenovo Benelux. “All resource management can be centralised with the XClarity Administrator.” ThinkSystem DE comes in two flavours: all-flash and hybrid-flash.

The challenge: collaboration with partners
The solution: expansion of portfolio
